I reckon he's off.

He's not the same player since his injury, sadly. I suspect the club has recognised this.

He's not getting the desired game time.

Gross is being drafted in as right back ahead of him.

This seems to be one of the more realistic rumours.

I rate Lamptey but I do question whether he's good enough to meet our most recent ambitions, beyond being a useful squad player.

If we get a decent fee for him it would be a great piece of business.
Could not agree more, post injury nowhere near the player he was

Don’t shoot the messenger but from a very reliable source he was all set to buy a nice property in the north part of Worthing but pulled out of the purchase a couple of weeks ago apparently, hopefully he’s found another house locally? 🙏

Pulled out of buying a property in Worthing?

Probably has more to do with actually considering living in Worthing than a big swoop by another club

Was unplayable pre injury. A genuine £50m wing back. Not like Cucurella. Lamptey was the kid everyone wanted. Just hasn't looked the same player. Maybe his confidence has taken a hit and he is conscious of picking up another injury.

If he wants to leave, let him. He deserves to be playing, a great kid, hasn't thrown he's toys out of the pram unlike some others.

Sporting Lisbon trying to get him on loan according to Ornstein in The Athletic.

Would be a great move for him. Will get regular game time as they’re likely to sell Porro to Spurs, playing for a decent, historic club, European competition and under an excellent young manager in Amorim.

Hope it happens, he needs regular game time to kick on again. Come back stronger next season.

Not being mean but who cares if it’s a good move for him. We need to start being more ruthless as a club. Yes he’s not guaranteed a start but if Veltman snaps an Achilles in 1st February we would need him badly. It’s not like there’s a World Cup he needs game time for. We should hang on to him and he can go in the summer if he wants.

It is slightly concerning with the Gilmour rumours a couple of months back how players want away either not willing to fight for a place, or don’t feel they’ve got a chance

No he wasn’t. End product has always been in need of improvement….absolutely nowhere near a ‘£50m wing back’ in his time with us.

Seems a lovely, committed lad and hope everything works out for him.

It's a shame, but not concerning, both left Chelsea to get game time, they are not getting it here and they both need it. I just hope that any loan works well and that they come back. I am hoping Alzate returns from Standard Liege with confidence high and having had good experience.

Don’t buy into this ‘no good since the injury’ narrative. He’s not had much regular football and he still looks pretty lively every time he comes on. Probably not an orthodox right-back but still a fine player, if we can find a way to utilise him. A loan to get him back up to speed and a conversation after that seems a good idea - but would leave us pretty short ourselves down the right.
