Simply unbelievable, and yet more proof - if it was required - that the people running Fifa are incapable of acting as stewards for football on behalf of fans, players, clubs and society as a whole.

It beggars belief that two players exposed to such racism are being asked to serve bans. The fine for the Serbian FA is a disgrace and incompatible with other offences. There is total inconsistency.

Football is simply huge in society. It has wrestled control of this position and with that control comes great responsibility. Football has a massive societal role to play. Unfortunately the administrators are just not up to the job anymore. Politicians everywhere will be aghast at the message FA's are sending out in the way in which they treat racism. They same goes for fraud and the way clubs are managed. The lessons it pushes out into society are appalling, and today many people take football more seriously than politics.

Michel Platini should spend less time working out the next money making initiative for the sponsors and more time on the issues that fans care about. He should be ashamed of this decision.

Time for England to stand up to UEFA. Tell them that if they don't ban Serbia from international football for a period of 5 years then should we draw them in any competition then we will not honour the fixture in Serbia. Hopefully others will back us and force UEFA to realise the seriousness of situation and address it.
