So hard, but when you think about it JPVH and Baleba have such an influence on the game. So hard to drop Bart and Mitoma, but we do have Steele as an immediate replacement (nowhere near as reliable but still a decent keeper). Joao thanks, but by the sound of it, you have come down with C**t flu, so off you go

Brutal poll.

I've gone very rogue and am the only person to select verbruggen... but hear me out.

If it's who I want to watch play, Mitoma and Beleba win.

If it's who are my most important for next season, I'd probably say the same: Mitoma and Beleba. JPVH is in close 3rd, but it's easier to find solid CBs.

So why have I chosen Verbruggen and Beleba for the poll? I think they'll have the most value rise from staying.
- Mitoma is at peak value
- I think most other players are nearing their max value, especially as their contracts run shorter and shorter

I think Beleba will be worth as much as Casiedo with another season. I also think really good keepers are hard to find. Verbruggen whilst regularly slated on here, has a very high ceiling and every manager has always said as such. Especially at his young age.

Another year under their bets will add significant value I'd expect.

Mitoma is legitimately world class so he would be very, very hard to replace. That leaves an equal toss up between Baleba and JVPH. I voted Carlos on the sole basis good midfielders are less commonplace than good centre backs.

Good post and very sound logic presented there.

When it comes to transfer rumours, I subscribe to the "no smoke without fire" mantra. In terms of Verbruggen, there is sufficient links with big clubs for me to believe it's not just a load of bollocks.

Football people, the football industry, in fact, clearly rates Bart Verbruggen far higher than the average Albion fan.

They'll not be basing that on Verbruggen today, but Verbruggen in two, five, eight years' time. He's ridiculously young for this level and I think we often forget that.

To counter that, goalkeepers have a ceiling on their valuation. To this date, the third highest transfer for a goalkeeper was the £52m that Juventus paid Parma for Gianluigi Buffon over 20 years ago.

Poor Bart and JP. Not many points

Most torn between the same 3.

Baleba is definite as there's no like for like replacement. Then torn between Mitoma and JPVH. Both incredible players.

Mitoma is world class on his day, our best player and can change games, so it has to be him, but then again, his age versus JPVH, our best defender and a future club captain so it has to be him?

Help.

It has to be JPvH and Baleba.

Our brand of football suggests we’ll create chances whoever the attackers are (to a point), see Hinshelwood at Spurs. However, it leaves us far too vulnerable and without a box to box midfielder and our best CB we’d concede even more.

Good points, but Mitoma is one of the few players on the pitch who can do something out of nothing. You mention Hinsh at Spurs, but it was Mitoma that changed the game in my opinion.

I won’t begrudge him a big move away for CL football - he’s a good lad and he’ll go correctly if he does indeed move on. But I really think we’ll struggle with what we have - Adingra and relying on young Watson is a big downgrade

The players will see this poll, and the 4 that don't get the most votes will put in transfer requests.

Jan Paul Van Hecke is going nowhere.

Pedro can do one. Tired of him now.

I like Bart and feel he will go onto become a great ‘keeper but if I can only chose two then he doesn’t make the cut.

Beleba is so good but in a head-2-head I prefer the stardust Mitoma brings.

So, keep JPVH and Mitoma.

Mitoma and Baleba, because JPvH is easier to replace ultimately (and I love him so that was tough)

I went for JPvH and Carlos, but I'm starting to think that Verbruggen would be much harder to replace than Van Hecke.

I’ve “allowed” Mitoma to move on, he’s given us incredible service, and at 28 is at his peak for another 4 years. He deserves a move to the very top, we’re close, but we’re not there yet. I will miss him.

I want JPvH to stay for at least this season, if there are new recruits at CB then we need to give them time to bed in and want a familiar face marshalling them while they come to terms with the PL.

Baleba is just a one man engine room. We don’t have anyone else in midfield who can power through the pitch with the ball like there’s nobody else there. Perhaps that’s the role that O’Riley has been bought to cover? I would rather have Baleba every day of the week.

Very tough question. I've gone for Mitoma and JPVH but I would be expecting as close to £100m for Baleba as possible or my mind could be changed. Pedro I think is great but seems s though he could go rogue at some point. Verbruggen for me gets a rough ride on here but I think he's quality, however we have a conveyor belt of keepers and he can be replaced.
