It's not written as a yes beacuse it isn't. If it was we'd be build there tomorrow (well I would).

All he is saying is that there is nothing wrong with Falmer (i.e. written as a no) but as it is a green filed site he must be absolutely sure there are no alternatives before he can give his 'yes' letter.

I'm sure every Albion fan who has been around the last few years will KNOW that the other possibilities have been done to death and have always been foun wanting. Prescott obviously wants this stated categorically to avoid a judicial review.

There's the rub.

yes i know that and i have been around for a few years so don't start that crap. just cos i don't spend my life on this message board,

Read up first, stuff on this site is more than enough to answer your questions. Rags are being lost because it seems some of us are stupidly believing the NIMBY's rambling bollox and saying "why hasn't he said yes?" etc. Its just annoying. The main thing is its now all against the NIMBYs to prove there are other sites, which they can't do.

You're really not doing yourself any favours by asking such stupid questions though are you...

What I meant by 'being around a bit' is that the Nimbys have constantly tried and failed to point at other sights. ALL the other sites have been dismissed conclusively. If Waterhall is suddenly an alternative then it is because someone has u-turned somewhere. Consecquently they would have to admit they were wrong somewhere along the line and possible open themselves up to legal action by the club. Not going to happen. All the other sites are laughable and have been proved as such already. The fact that we have to do it again infront of a judge is a formality to avoid delays later in the day.

But you already no that so you must be stupid...

....Isn't there a possibility that the ODPM will decide that no site is suitable for a football stadium ? then what do BHA do ?

On what grounds coul he suggest that Falmer isn't suitable when the document he released today has said it is?

Border country.East Preston.
Prescott hasn't said no because he knows that at least 40,000 people would go out of their way to not vote Labour at the election. And with electoral turnouts these days being so low it would probably swing the seats against them.

All the more reason to set up the Seagulls Party

Prescotts letter says

4 Following consideration of these representations, the Secrtetary of State has concluded that he should seek further evidence concerning the availability or otherwise of alternative sites and that for this purpose it is appropriate to re-open the inquiry.

c) Whether there are any other sites that could be suitable for the proposed development having regard to the above criteria

Look it's easy, there are four or five conditions that have to be met in order to build on an AONB. You can safely assume that we've satisfied all but one of these otherwise the ODPM would have just said 'No' and not bothered to re-open the Inquiry to investigate just the viabilty of the alternative sites. Demonstrating that there are no viable alternative sites must therefore be the last condition that needs to be met in order for it to be permissable for us to build on an AONB.

What makes me laugh about the whole thing is that clearly the NIMBYs think that they are the underdogs in this situation. They aren't, NIMBYs usually win in the South East. Hope their "Victory Party" is going well, and they're choking on the champagne as they realise that there is still life in this underdog.
