Sean O'Driscoll has been appointed as our new manager.
Sean takes over with immediate effect and says he is delighted to be back in management as Reds prepare for their first season in League 1.
He will be unveiled to the media at a press conference at the Broadfield Stadium today.
Sean said: "I did a lot of due diligence on Crawley Town before I decided to accept the club's offer. I have been impressed with the owners and people behind the scenes and I am looking forward to helping the club establish itself in League 1."
Sean's playing career started at Fulham in 1979 where he spent five seasons, making 148 appearances, before he joined Bournemouth in 1984. It was the start of a long association with the Cherries, first as a player - he made over 400 appearances for the club - coach and then when he was appointed manager in August 2000.
Sean, who won three Republic of Ireland caps in the early 1980s, led the Cherries to promotion via the League 2 play-offs in 2003 before joining Doncaster Rovers in 2006.
In his first full season in charge Sean guided Doncaster to the Championship in 2008 after a play-off final win over Leeds United. He established the club in the second tier of English football, with Doncaster gaining a reputation for their eye-catching brand of football, before leaving in September 2011.
In January 2012 Sean joined the coaching staff at Nottingham Forest.
He said: "I had three enjoyable months at Forest. (Manager) Steve Cotterill gave me a great opportunity to work at what is a fantastic football club and I thank him for that.
"But Crawley is a good fit for me. They are a club trying to do things the right way. I came to the club and the area three times before I decided to take the job and spoke to a lot of people and I got a very good feel for what has been achieved in the last two years and the potential there is to develop Crawley Town still further.
"This is a challenge I am really looking forward to. My football philosophy is to improve players and the way they think about the game. It is going to be a busy summer. Going from League 2 to League 1 is quite a jump but I'm looking forward to getting started. My message to the fans is simple: Please support your local team."
Craig Brewster is to remain on the coaching staff while Steve Coppell remains in his role as Director of Football.
Chief Executive Alan Williams said: "The appointment of our next manager was the key to the future success of the club. We are 100% convinced that we have made the perfect appointment.
"Sean brings with him a wealth of experience and a track record of success which matches the ambition of this football club.
"Our Director of Football Steve Coppell worked extremely hard identifying Sean as the ideal candidate and thanks to his hard work we have been able to bring him to the club."

Not a bad one for Crawley he could do well there if he is able to bring a few in.
