" Out of favour Reading right-back Shaun Cummings is attracting interest from Brighton and Hove Albion.
It is understood that the League One side are interested in the former Chelsea trainee who has found life hard since switching to Madejski Stadium on transfer deadline day in August for £300,000.
Royals are desperate to sign Stoke City defender Andy Griffin and manager Brian McDermott even played left-footed midfielder Jay Tabb and Brynjar Gunnarsson out of position ahead of the 21-year-old before Griffin signed on loan in January.
Cummings played four games for Championship runners-up West Brom at the start of last season and if Griffin was to sign he could even find himself behind Academy graduate Julian Kelly in the pecking order. "

BOMBING for them. :jester:

This story might have had some legs, before the signing of Calderon. Another reason to be greatful of the greatman's return!

Delighted as everyone seems to be at the news of Calderon's new contract, there must remain a concern regarding his fitness. If Mr Poyet thinks Cummings is a capable back up for Calderon, and Reading are willing to take a big loss on the £300,000 they paid six months ago, then I'd be pleased to see him sign for B&HA.

Sure we can pick him up on the cheap its worth it? Calde's not going to be back immeadiately from his injury and its always useful to sign cover and possibly replacement for early season, but I back Poyet's decision and hope hes got a good idea up his sleeve.
