Again apoligies if already mentioned but I just stumbled across this on bbc sport website.

Brighton reject Pompey move talk

Brighton have dismissed reports suggesting they want to sign Portsmouth keeper Shaka Hislop.
"It is complete speculation," said assistant manager Bob Brooker of the link with the 35-year-old.

"We've got four keepers here at the moment so why would we be looking at other goalies?"

Hislop has fallen down the pecking order at Portsmouth since the arrival of Greek Kostas Chalkias and the improving form of Jamie Ashdown.

Yes this has been mentioned.. General opinion was that we couldn't fund his lifestyle for a full contract but maybe a loan deal might not be to a crazy idea.

Wasn't Roberts in the Premiership when we signed him?

Why does everyone assume that just because a player currently has a Premiership contract then his wage demands will be astronomical? There aren't many jobs around for keepers, he may just be grateful for a contract and regular games for a couple of years. Plus, he wouldn't have to uproot the family etc.

Don't rule it out, that's all I'm saying.

Now that is a far better response than "Fixtures" etc:thumbsup:

Seeing as Shaka studied at NASA (true) before going pro as a footballer I think we can safely assume that his demands WILL be 'ASTROnomical'
:p

wont be happening if the argus is anything to go by

The injury could mean McGhee steps up attempts to bring in a keeper on loan, though he has ruled out a reunion with Portsmouth's out-of-favour Shaka Hislop, who he signed for Reading 13 years ago.

McGhee said: "I have a good relationship with Shaka but unfortunately he is way out of our depth."
