[h=3]Seagulls end interest in French prospect[/h]5:00am Tuesday 14th January 2014 in Albion By Andy Naylor
Albion have decided against signing former Manchester United target Alasanne Tambe as a potential long-term replacement for Bruno and Inigo Calderon.
The Seagulls have ended their interest in the French development squad trialist.
Tambe, 21, was a target for United and other top clubs as a teenager at Paris Saint-Germain.
The former France youth international was on trial with Albion from Belgian club Kortrijk and played at right-back in a recent development friendly at Charlton.
Albion are currently well-served in that position by Bruno and Calderon, although both Spaniards are in their thirties and out of contract at the end of the season.
Simon Ireland’s development side drew 1-1 in a friendly at Aston Villa yesterday. Charlie Harris gave them a 70th minute lead but they were pegged back.
The Seagulls discover their FA Cup fourth round opponents tonight. They visit the winners of the replay between Plymouth Argyle and Port Vale at Home Park.
