With Butt playing no further part in Euro 2004, and Scholes suffering from an injury, it would only take another one or two injuries/suspensions for England to face the possibility of having to play Phil Neville in central midfield in a European Championship semi final.

Don't worry. We'll get thrown out soon.

Well that's that then.

For goodness sake, we have lost one match.

We can still get out of this group even if it is in 2nd place.

I don't think the authorities are worried over a handful of fans being arrested.

I thought that's what you meant but I thought the ban would have to be over something fairly major like a full scale riot as alleged took place in Marseilles a few years back.

I agree (well, i hope anyway)

the use of the word 'thrown' rather than 'knocked' out made me think magoo might be referring to that

But if the "fans" and i use that word losely keep on causing trouble UEFA will be forced to act in some way. At the moment they are saying that they are not intrested in the actions of a hand full of people. Would be a shame to see us get thrown out though becasue of a hand full of mindless yobs.

If the worse happens and we do I can see the FA and UEFA placing a complete ban on fans at away games for a few years.

As far as i understand it, UEFA stated clearly well before the tournement that 'any' unrest involving/caused by England fans will result in the National team being disqualified.

I don't wish to be a scare monger. Correct me if i'm wrong.

But on the other hand i would think that UEFA would be reasonable, and not punish the many because of the few.

Despite UEFA's threats I don't think they will throw us out, whatever happens. There is too much organisation and sponsorhip that has been arranged on the back of the 16 teams that have made it to the finals. There is also legal implications that would not be resolved in time.

What would be more likely to happen is a ban from entering in 2008.

i agree that it would have to be a riot for them to throw us out similiar to the world cup in france or the last european championships not the small disturbances that are braking out at the moment!

i hope

We whould nto be allowed to replace injured players.

How do you distinguish between England fans causing trouble, and English holiday makers causing trouble in Portugal?
