Are beans the new thing which are immensely popular with millions of people, but the Guardian-reading liberal NSC elite choose to shame?

If they were rebranded as "organically sourced Ethiopian haricots simmered in a rustic tomate reduction, infused with a symphony of aromatic herbs and spices, meticulously slow-cooked to perfection." it would be a different story.

Nothing wrong with beans on toast, good hearty, quick, cheap meal.

Yeah, I've missed this demonisation of baked beans, how long has that been a 'thing'? High fibre, low fat, not so long ago they were almost classed as a health food. I hope Heinz don't muck around with the recipe, I still haven't forgiven Kelloggs for altering Coco Pops so that they taste like shredded cardboard. (And whatever happened to Ricicles?)

They have mucked around with it, but happily put the mucked about with monstrosities in a different tin

Ah yes, I once brought one of those. They were absolutely disgusting and I thought they were off, then my wife noticed the tin. Bit sneaky that the coloring is the same, being busy I had just grabbed the tin off the supermarket shelf without reading the label. Really they should put the 'No sugar' ones in a tin with a black label and a skull and crossbones on it.

The tin should also clearly be on fire at all times

I used to love baked beans but that are full of shit aren’t they? Best off with eggs and bacon
Beans tomato salt water cornflower vinegar spice and herb?....Heinz seems fine to me.

Anyway, Macknade nitrate-free bacon and Mr Peppers nitrate-free sausages, and I'm IN!

Too much sugar and crap in the ones you get on the High Street. I like these….

I'll tell you one thing you get in Germany you pretty much cannot get here is fermented tomato-based vegetable drink. Macknade here in Faversham used to sell it by the litre (imported from Italy) but alas no more. I have done a bit of online scoping around but to no avail.

Worthing
I’m going for a 7 item brekkie later.
Egg, bacon, sausage, beans, toast, black pudding and mushrooms.
Is that the standard 7 do you think ?

My two-pennies: Baked beans are FOUL. I've hated them since I was a kid, tried them a few more times over the years to see if my palate has started to welcome them (see. Olives) and, nope, still as vile as they wee to me 35 years ago.

Sausage, eggs and chips (with a slice of bread and butter on the side) and I'm happy as Larry

Classic meal as long as done properly…..golf club used to do a cracking version……excellent sausages, big chunky chips and beans in a ramekin to avoid unnecessary and unwelcome seepage.

Not sure why people are confusing or even discussing it with a ’fry up’. That’s a breakfast - SECB is a lunch or dinner.
SECB was a standard at the ā€˜All Night Cafe’ in back in the day, we even had a song we would sing en route from Coasters.

ā€œSausage Egg Chips and beans chips and beans, sausage egg chips and beans chips and beans, we’re all going, down the all night cafe, sausage egg chips and beans chips and beans.ā€

Where's the SPAM? 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
In Camelot, apparently they like it there.

Seriously though, never had spam - I think I’m put off by the fact it’s processed meat in a tin with weird jelly stuff which looks like dogfood on it.
