Saturday Cricket - TWO big games and a HUMILIATION for Surrey!

Saturday Cricket - TWO BIG GAMES and a humiliation for Surrey!

At Canterbury:-

Kent 535
Surrey 125 & 169/7 (59 ov) (following on)

With 3 wickets remaining, Surrey need 241 runs or two days of torrential rain to avoid a humiliating innings defeat and the end of their championship hopes for the season.

:lolol: :lolol:

At the Oval:-

South Africa 484
England 165/2 (46.0 ov)

England trail by 319 runs with 8 wickets remaining in the 1st innings. Time for a big innings or two.

At Hove:-

Middlesex 392 (100 ov)
Sussex yet to bat, needing just one batting point to get to the top of the Championship table with a game and a half in hand over Surrey.

Where's our money now for the Championship ?

Total disaster for Surrey - suspect they are doing the rain dance as we post.

Although Surrey look finished regarding the championship we would be very foolish to consider it to be ours. Lancashire look like they could get 21 points from their current match, and they have hit great form recently. If our match is rain affected (which seems likely) we may only draw. Then, if they beat us at Old Trafford, we might yet find ourselves being pipped at the post.

Let's not get complacent about the fact that we're ahead of Surrey - Lancs are the real danger now!

Pessimist!

It'll have to be a big NSC turn-out at Hove against Leicestershire on Fri 17th to celebrate the first county championship. Vests & Sharky welcome.
