Point 1 - We are a young team, in two years time Rooney will be 20. Players like Cole, who for me will be the best defender in the world, will be in his early 20's as will terry, cambell, gerrard - this team will win the next world cup i feel comfortable with that.

Point 2 - stop harrasing Sven, He is one of the best managers in the world NO QUESTIONS, his record proves it. He can only do what he can with the players he has. We should have won we had a legitimate goal disallowed. However Portugal played the better footbal (although for most of the match they were confined to 25 yard hit and hopes because we have the best defence in the world).

Portugal won because they spread the ball well from side to side and used the width of the pitch, something that we always have problems with.

What we need is some creativty in Midfield (it amazed me how almost all of the Potuguese team would take a player on before they made a pass) and the old chestnut of a left sided midfield player.

We will have the players to cover this in 2 years time and with beckham relieved of his captains dutys (why have a captain who doesnt talk, look at Danny Cullip and what influence he has for Brighton) Belive me it will come good. Stick with Erickson and maintain the faith!

Yup, it's one of the perks of working in a big corporate building, there is always some tw*t who can claim gloating rights. The Irish and Scottish contingent have yet to arrive, so my day can only get better!!

It's not down to Sven, it's not down to Darius, Beckham or Terry. The fact is we never had a squad capable of winning the tournament. While our first eleven were fit and on the pitch we had a chance, but there was no cover and two days rest was not enough.

Look at Portugal. They've changed it around during the tournament. Only three of their back four started the first game. The Czech's beat Germany with their reserve team. The midfield were tired, but who could come in and do a job in their place?

Who did we have in the squad that could have even put pressure on the first eleven? Wayne Bridge is the only one I can think of, but Cole was outstanding for the whole tournament and my man of the match last night. When the Portuguese made a substition they brought on Rui Costa. We brought on Phil Neville, Owen Hargreaves and Darius Vassell.

We have got to find 5-6 more quality players who can play at that level before 2006.

Owen Hargreaves is good enough - he should be starting ahead of Scholes, who has had about 20 straight bad games. Hopefully Defoe and Smith will come through, maybe even Wright-Phillips
