he has a lot of strength for a player our 2 strikers (barnes, cms) can be very lightweight at times especially barnes he is a lot stronger and is hard too muscle off the ball he wins headers and at one point an ipswich player tried to bring him down and just fell over but due to bad refereeing won a freekick he is another option which i think will benefit the team we now have a plan b

Vokes is a good player, but he need's to hold the ball up more and wait either for CMS/Barnes (if they play) or the winger's to pass out wide to (LuaLua, Noone, Buckley)
He's Not a Target man as such but a finisher

Vokes got himself into good positions today but missed a shitload of decent chances. In the end it didn't matter, but sooner rather than later it will matter. Needs to up his game.

I've been surprised by Vokes. He has been generally disappointing at Wolves, who tend to play the long ball a lot more. Based on that I thought he was a poor aquisition when we got him, however I have been really impressed. I wonder whether Mick McCarthy knew he was capable of kicking the ball - Wolves only ever aimed it at his head.
