I'd take that in a flash.

Ipswich are reluctant to SELL Parkin to another rival Championship club, does that mean then for sure that they won't LOAN or SWAP to a club in a lower division?

Good point. Ipswich may well see Coventry as one of their main rivals for a play off position, and wouldn't want to strengthen Coventry's team by offloading Parkin to them.

It will only cost his wages. How would it achieve nothing, if he came for three months and scored ten goals?

Ipswich MIGHT agree to this, with a call-back clause. Up to the player though.

His wages would be better utilised getting a player in permanently.

Parkin comes in for 3 months and scores 10 goals then great but when he goes back to Ipswich what do we do then?...We will be back to square 1 again and left with the same unsolved problem we had before he arrived.

Albion & England forever.

Parkin always seemed to play well against us fro Swindon. Id love him to come here but cant see it. Suprised Warnock has not added him to the gaggle of strikers at the Blades

Give it a few weeks and if he hasn't started getting first team football at Ipswich, he may look for a loan somewhere.

"Thierry's" the man Albion want

by Andy Naylor

Albion manager Mark McGhee today confirmed an interest in Thierry Henry of Arsenal as the hunt continues for a target man before the transfer deadline at the end of August.

McGhee has switched his attention to Henry after failing to land Neil Shipperley, Danny Dichio or Ben Burgess.

"Thierry Henry has been one on my list since I noted his stats on FM 2006," McGhee revealed. "We have been pursuing a few simultaneously. He had an injury last season and ended up not featuring too much.

"I had him at Highbury, so I have known about Thierry for a long time. He could certainly do a job for us in this division and maybe one for the future!!"

McGhee wants to "play our way" out of League One after guiding Albion to promotion via the play-offs three seasons ago by more direct methods.

He will continue with an attack-minded 4-3-3 formation against Gillingham at Withdean tonight after Saturday's opening 1-0 victory at Rotherham and is considering playing the former Dutch Marine up front as a Target Man.

McGhee said: "I hope first of all the home supporters will see the spirit, which in our circumstances is the first thing that is required, then I hope they see that we are continuing to try to play football and pass the ball.

"We intend to pass and play our way out of this division and I'm sure FDM will get a few this season. We know we need that bit of steel in all areas of the team but we are going to play our way out.

"When I came in we couldn't do it overnight, so we decided to keep it simple and straightforward and it worked for us then but we've moved on from there."
