No it's not, if it was "out of nothing" there wouldn't be quotes from the manager...

That is what I was thinking but this will both cost money and achieve sod all.

It will only cost his wages. How would it achieve nothing, if he came for three months and scored ten goals?

Ipswich MIGHT agree to this, with a call-back clause. Up to the player though.

I think we would probably have to pay a fee. We were closing in on the Arsenal chap before Birmingham paid £100k fee for just a loan signing!! GNW cost us £25k.

If it got him match fit then presumably they may be keen, but as he is buzzing around the first team squad this is just paper talk and nothing else.

Shame as he is a useful player and he hates Leon ;)

Exactly
This is just getting to be something of a standing joke, but not a very funny one. Look, can't we just take it as a gimmee that McGhee is searching for a striker, without him tossing these utterly worthless scraps to the press all the time ? I guess McGhee just thinks he is "proving" to us that he is actively looking for a striker, but I'm sick to death about reading who we are supposedly interested in. Just tell us when someone actually SIGNS on the dotted line for christs sake, without trying to lead us up the garden path all the time by throwing random names about.

It smacks of McGhee attempting to cover his arse with the lack of signings. When the transfer window closes, he can then fall back on his bad luck story and reel off a list of names who we supposedly tried to bring in, except in reality it probably never got beyond a tentative initial enquiry before being laughed off by the other club.

McGhee - just keep yer mouth SHUT until you've (a) agreed the deal and (b) got the fella to sign. Anything before that is not "news", its just speculative rubbish thats pissing everyone off.

If you remember, he tried to keep us in the Championship by playing very attractive football early season. Result dictated that we had to go more defensive which didn't work either. Half the criticism MM gets is for experimenting and no doubt if we lose a few playing attractive football all the moans will come back again.
I think this is a big reason McGhee got the stick he did last season. For the first 6 or 7 games we started playing good football and expectation became quite high, then just because we lost a few games McGhee changed the style and made us awful to watch, just hitting long balls all game to players who weren't equipped for that kind of play. If we'd tried to play football and gone down he wouldn't have got half the stick that he did

I think this maybe another bit of PR in saying well look we are trying to sign players !!!

However it isn't impossible that there could be some truth in it, firstly maybe there is a possiblity in a loan deal... if Ipswich want to keep him and want him to improve his fitness then maybe a short term loan isn't out of the question.

If however MM is looking to buy Parkin then surely he is way out of our league... the £350k price tag for a starters is a bit steep. But it isn't impossible that we have a deal in the pipeline for CKR as at the moment he seems lost, unsure of what he is doing and not really looking like he wants to be here which is a massive shame as the lad has undoubted talent and i hope he shows it in a blue and white striped shirt.

But in theory would you trade CKR for Parkin..... right now i'd say yes

I would deffo take that deal if offered now - Parkin is proven at this level.

Exactly, however a partnership of Parkin and CKR would be perfect.

Shame we haven't got the 350k without selling anyone

HELL yes.
Parkin is a proven goalscorer at this level, he was banging them in for fun when he was at Swindon. Still only 25 as well. I'd jettison CKR for Parkin any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Sadly, Parkin is totally out of our league. If he ever became available, he'd have his pick of easily half a dozen clubs, most of them in the Championship, so any notion that he would come to the Albion is pure and utter fantasy.

I suppose this is our "proof" that the search goes on for a striker, but frankly, McGhee might as well have said we're interested in Del Piero.

Is he not available after Juve's relegation

Could do a job

Swap deal for CKR?

I'd take that in a flash.

Ipswich are reluctant to SELL Parkin to another rival Championship club, does that mean then for sure that they won't LOAN or SWAP to a club in a lower division?

DK saying he's happy to finish mid table of Division 1 and MM then trying to sign a decent striker, from a higher division - it all sounds like a load of bollocks to me

Looking at this with mega rose coloured glasses, maybe Mcghee thinks that anyone other than a quality forward is no better than we have, so why aim lower?
