Sad or committed?

I recently found in the loft all the old diaries I used to keep from 1962 (when I was 12). Would you believe I used to write in every Albion result with scorers and with attendance, transfer news, etc, etc; I even wrote in some of the reserve team scores! Is this sad or just extremely committed? It's really weird looking through them - it's like reading your own autobigraphy which you forgot you wrote. Anyone else keep old diaries with football results? The other night found an entry from 1966 saying 'Arranged game of football with Pete Brackley'. Anyone remember Pete as a regular in the North Stand before he became a commentator?

Committed.

Nice to see someone as old as me.

I wish I had written stuff down so that I could remember more. The memory is decidely shaky nowadays.

I remember after the Play-Off final season of 90-91 I thought it would be a great idea to keep a scrapbook of Argus reports from every match the following season when we would make an historic to the top flight.

That scrapbook of the relegation seasons remains in my cupboard :dunce:

I've still got copies of the Sunday newspaper reports after we won the FA Cup semi-final against Sheff Wendy. "Five & Nine The Brighton Line" was one headline - referring to Fozzie & Robinson, and "Jimmy's Dancing All The Way To Wembley" another - referring to Jimmy Melia's white disco dancing shoes.

Ah......mamories

Sorry, sorry, mEmories

I had a map of England and Wales on my wall (which I drew myself), and every time I went to an away game, I would put a dot on the map to show I'd been there. I also decorated the map with an enormous picture of John Byrne I'd drawn, standing in the English Channel, looming up over Norfolk. His knee had a bandage on it.

I listed all the games I'd been to from the start, but lsot interest in doing it in my 20s when I wasn't going so much.

I've started listing again now, with much more info, as it's easier to store on a computer. I've promised myself that I'll fill in those missing years somehow some day, too.

Already keeping a log for my kids that I'm sure they'll appreciate they're old enough to take it over themselves....

I have a scrapbook of all the games I have been to with all sorts of interesting stuff in it. It also has stuff from the game on the day I was born.

Haven't done anything on it since QPR away (LDV) and I have a big box of shit upstairs.

I think I've got a couple missing from my collection, and a few for games I didn't go to.

I hope you keep up your collection like I have. You'll be amazed how much space it takes up by the time you're my age!!

I think I have only 2 missing now, including my first match in 1976. I only recently found that there was a Cup Final replay programme and picked one up on ebay.

I too have a load of newspapers from 1983 and 1979, my Peter Ward stylee shirt, a cup-final flag and rosette plus a dreadful Blue acrylic jumper which I wore to the Cup Final. How could I throw it away now? The box now has an inflatable seagull and a jester's hat from Cardiff!

But no, I didn't keep a scrapbook or a diary.
