So he did play the biggest part in the second innings. But Parfitt's century and Barrington's 93 played a massive part in ensuring the two teams weren't far apart after the first innings.

Blimey Gwylan, another busy day reading Wisden. 
Would have been early-mid 1960's, legit then. it was only the D'Oliveira affair in 1968 that put SA in the wilderness.
England had some good stroke makers though: Smith, Dexter, Parfitt and Parks weren't blockers.
