I thought we missed him today. Plays with his head up, wants the ball in midfield and can take a set piece. He's normally the easy target for abuse but the grass isn't always greener....

Not his biggest fan but we missed his corners and set pieces, he put a few good balls in against Derby

I'm absolutely not his biggest fan, but he was noticeably missing when subbed last week.
Barnes wasn't this week.

If harley had played today then it would be we missed vicente if vicente played today it would be we missed sparrow.

We did not play well today & we have not played well all season but we have found ways to win when we don't play well.

If we can win playing badly in this division what can we do then we start playing well.

Harley is a quality player. His ability to pick a pass and bring people into the game would have been a great asset today.

Mr Valium (Ryan Harley) has improved from game to game and imo is starting to find his feet. Would have liked to see him in today instead of Billy "The Buffalo" Paynter.

What has it come to with our fans when someone posts a positive post about a player and my mind immediately goes to "he's fishing! He knows everyone hates that guy so is praising him to get a reaction"?

Bit odd that he wasn't in the 16 today. He was linking up well with Mackail-Smith in both the Coventry and Derby games I thought. I think we missed either/both him or Dicker today. The lay-offs just weren't going to our players today, and the absence of a passing midfielder really showed.

Totally agree, especially when Billy was playing in vitually his position today. Paynter contributed nothing!

I think he's the exact kind of player we need after Bennett went. I also think he's been in HORRIBLE form (not much footie for months since Exeter) but will come good if given a chance and be a very important player for us. Fingers crossed he fires us to promotion next season when squad are settled.

Well done _mark_ I said this in another thread. His interview in the programme suggests he is settling in now and finding his feet so we should see the best of him soon.

the day we miss this lad is the day we're playing the yeovils and walsall's of this world again. We'ved moved up a gear no room for passengers in our team! ( i no he's been abit better lately!)

We seem to have forgotten players like Rodney Marsh, Tony Currie, even Le Tissier. These type of world beaters had a certain languid style that had everyone calling them lazy or not trying if they had a bad day. Not saying Harley is up to that standard but one piece of brilliance every 3 or 4 games that wins a match will do for me.

I agree that we look a much side with Harley playing. He is class and by the end of the season I hope and expect that people who are yet to believe in him will have changed their minds.

We certainly lacked a bit of invention yesterday, resulting in some observers' dream scenario of us punting it forward to an overpowered Macka. The Harls plays a lot of sideways passes, but they enable us to keep possession, and that should create space around the pitch if we keep the ball moving and ourselves with it.
I worry at times that the players cannot help but react to the groans of the crowd or the brainless shouts of a number wanting us to speed things up. Psychologically, they need to be trained to purely remember the songs of praise and almost never the collective sighs or idiotic hollers of those they have no reason to listen to the advice of.

completely agree...said in another thread that the work he does further up the pitch in closing down opponents' midfield is not always visible, but it was clear yesterday that we missed him a great deal.

Absolutely this - good to see some people beginning to understand what he can bring to the team once he's got games under his belt and he, like the rest of the side, has fully acclimatised to the pace and physicality of this division.

One that splits views, but personally I feel since his injury our midfield has really missed Gary Dicker's passing, with or without Harley.

I agree that Harley is getting better, and that we are missing Dicker. More than anything else, we are missing a fit Vicente and Buckley. Would love to see either playing an advanced mid role ahead of Nav / Reyes / Vincelot & Bridcutt. Then have Harley as an option from the bench.
