2003 World Cup I did a simple match by match score prediction. A sliding scale of points for correct score, correct points difference, correct points for either team and then the name of the first try scorer or no try.

Very simple.

Ie 10 points for correct points difference. 5 points for1 to 3 out. 3 points 4 to 6. 1 point 7 to 10 etc
