Wow...! Sad for those killed but, didn't realise how accurate these things are.

What's all this?

Russia appears to be pausing its military activities and making a diplomatic push.
Does it want to be friends after all?
Has it run out of missiles?
Is it stalling for time to train its new troops?

Whatever the reason, it seems to be making several coordinated attempts at a (Russian style) charm offensive.

First the BBC reports:
'Ukraine war: Putin says no more massive strikes - for now'

From the Indian Youtube news channel Crux:

'Russia Suddenly Changes Tone On Talks Amid Ukraine War Setbacks| Putin Looking For "Peace" Or More?'

(He appears to be offering? a withdrawal from Kherson, but wants to keep Donbas. Crimea is not on the table).
This is presumably unacceptable to Ukraine, who have repeatedly ruled out negotiations.
See the statement from the Turkish government at 2:08.

I wouldn't think they've run out of missiles but the fact they've been using repurposed S-300 SAMs shows that they're worried about running low.
Putin is on the ropes. He knows it, we know it and he knows we know it. It's going to be all about saving face and keeping the reins on his power now.

Indeed. Even more reason to tell Prickin to go and f**k himself about talks.

Russian state TV can be a goldmine, if you accept that the propagandists read from a script and are told what to say. It follows that if you look carefully, it tells you what the Kremlin are complaining about, and therefore what to expect in the future.

I watched a Russian state TV show a few weeks ago, complaining about the cost of weapons Russia was buying from Iran. The gist was, that Russia should be making them itself.

Conclusion: Russia is going to increase its weapons manufacturing. It's buying them from Iran at the moment because it considers it needs them.

Checking out the demographics of the Kherson oblast, at both the 1991 referendum and in a 2014 poll, it was just over 90% pro Ukrainian.

Only in the mad minds of a few fascist Russians is it remotely Russian. The invasion is blatant theft of Ukrainian sovereign lands, with no tie to Russia.
Maybe so but Putrid disagrees and the Russian people are either unaware or too frightened to disagree.

How can he offer Kherson - he just claimed it was part of Russia and would be against the constitution to ever allow it to be separated.

Putin realises that if this carries on not only does he lose the war but by simply engaging in terrorist retaliation attacks on Ukrainian civilians he risks alienating what little international support he has left (the UN vote last week might well have spooked him in that regard). This is regardless of what defeat costs him domestically.

Ukraine will have Kherson soon enough anyway. Donbas and Crimea are his trophies which he can hold and claim a victory. If he is allowed to keep Donbas now, we’ve learnt nothing from 2014. He’s also clearly spooked by the Kerch strike, what he thought was safe is now no longer. Ukraine should reject his terms and we need to keep giving them whatever arms they need.

It also suggests to me the nuclear threat is off the table. Doubtless Beijing have had words.

They could hold a referendum at gunpoint, to get people to vote to join Ukraine?

Might have something to do with the US Mid Term elections in 16 days and Putin trying to undermine Biden by appearing all "reasonable" and "peace loving".
