strange how when you don't look at a thread then when bored go back to look again.
looking at the google picture the bloke sitting outside the shop in Mortimer rd made me stop and blink ...my Mum used to own that shop when it was a bit of everything back in the early 60's.
and I'v done some maintainance work at Colmans on the electrics in the 90's and then went there to pick up a stray cat in 2002 some time.


I spend many hours in Tamworth park and my first girlfriend came from that area and who went to the Granada Saturday morning pictures then?

Yes the shop was our only income while my dad was a way earning next to nothing and my best memory of that shop was my mum used to stock Brighton Brothers sweets and Neilsons ice cream.

I think he moved to worthing! He was my first hairdresser and each time i had my hair cut it was either Michale Owen or Robbie Williams style!

Is that what he told you! I seem to recall he could only really do a short back and sides!! Regardless of what you asked for!

Nah, i always got the short back and sides, i just asked for the Owen or Williams style

He gave my dad quite good hair cuts like, not just short back and sides. I think.
