...not a usual thread for NSC, but I need help finding some rugby boots.

Problem is I am size 13 and adidas 13's are too thin (as are nikes). I need something robust - so most football boots won't do. I don't want to go for the size 14s because the leave too much space at the end (no good for running in).

Any suggestions of what brands of Rugby boots are a) decent and b) wide-footed.

I am not an amazing professional, so don't really want to spend over £50.

Addidas Regulate II's - perfect, but too thin

canterbury and gilbert do ok boots. I used to have some gilberts which treated me well for years and I also have a wide foot. I split most shoes down the side after a few months but not these ones

I have wide feet and had a couple of pairs of Gilbert boots when I played. However, I used to live with the "fat boys" in the front five where running is not usually encouraged so Gilberts may not be the best if you're in the backs.
If you've got number 11 or 14 on your back then ballet shoes may be more appropriate - always get them with matching tights and gloves though.

Can I reiterate Gilbert and Canterbury I have just bought a lovely pair of canterburys with the extra stud on the ball of your foot. They are f***ing ACE ! PS I too take size 13 with a wide foot and they fit lovely !

There was an article in the weekly freebie sports mag that they give away at train stations last week on this very subject. They did a huge review

Thanks for the suggestions - I may go and investigate addidas wide fit.

I will also go and investigate Gilbert and Canterbury, I thought they may be OK as a few of our players wear them. As for position; I tend to play into the second row as I am quite wide-shouldered, but I am pretty young and nimble, so may try my skills with the backs this season.

I now have a cunning plan, which involves trying on each different brand rugby boot in a size 13 in the shop to see which fits, once I have done that I will see if I can get them cheaper on 'tinternet.
