I should have clarified, obviously he is totally outshone whenever he plays by the rest of Chelsea middle third but he would walk into most of the lower prem sides, as our Liam has shown in that role it's not all about goal scoring and assists

When you think of PL players that have played that role well for title winning sides Viera, Keane and Makelele. He doesn't even have 30-35% of their ability. The three I mentioned struck fear into the opposition. If I saw Mikel's name on the teamsheet Saturday at 3pm I'd be thinking I was in for an easy afternoon.

The three you've mentioned there though are some of THE best to have played that role in the premiership, you're right that he is nowhere near their level of ability but he isn't as bad as many make out, he is just out of his depth at a club like Chelsea.
