Has anyone been there before? I’m in Belgium from tomorrow and have a few hours layover in Brussels before I go back home, only looks a 30 min walk from the station but no idea on club shop etc..

The notion that we should sign somebody just because we probably could is baffling. It’s the kind of short sighted bollocks we rightly mock Chelsea for.
We did it with Undav when there were other clubs sniffing around for him, and I suspect we would have gone for Boniface had we been allowed. It’s naive to think that we’re too moral a club to sign a good player from a club we have links with.

I am aware we did it with Undav. That doesn’t however mean we have to sign every single player that ever leaves them because we have links to them.

We signed Undav coz we only had Welbeck and Maupay as senior strikers at the time he signed, and it turned out Maupay was being moved on as well. And I agree with you and think we would’ve signed Boniface, but we couldn’t so signed Pedro instead.

The main difference in those cases was that we needed players in their positions. This guy is a centre mid, which is a position that we’re fairly stacked in at the moment.

We visited a while back, the club shop is in the stadium building opposite their ‘official’ pub, but check on opening times for the shop, it was closed when we went, on a Saturday, which was during an international break IIRC.

So? I presume we needed him and intended to keep him - I don't think we knew in advance he wouldn't like it here and wanted to go home as soon as he could.
