First day of Royal Ascot - one of me favourite days out of the year. Total quality horses, wall-to-wall top totty, extreme drunkenness and serious gambling in thirty degrees of sunshine. Weird and marvellous scenery all around. Who needs Portugal?

4.20 SIX PERFECTIONS win @ 2/1
4.55 DON FERNANDO e/w @ 14/1

Look for anything trained by Barry Hills and ridden by either one of his sons cos if he has a horse that has a chance he is likely to put one of those up than another jockey so if you spot a Hills /Hills patnership and if the form is reasonable........ lump on

Look out for Riyadh in the 2.4 mile race. Loves fast ground, has a low weight and should get in the frame at a big price.

I think Haafhd is a very good thing despite the price.

Iceman was the bet of the day & won at 5/1, problem was that I had it in a 3 horse acc. with Haafhd & Six perfections.
