Too right. Bought my first record (Madness, Baggy Trousers) in the Burgess Hill branch, and many more thereafter. Staffed by helpful people who actually 'got it’. RR, take a bow

I used to buy loads of stuff there when it was Fine Records. I knew Paul Skinner who was manager there in late 70s quite well.

Here's to another 40 years.

With hindsite this might just be an urban myth, but I was once told Rounder was a 'chart' shop i.e. it was one of the shops which was used to compile the Top 40. So record labels used to target this shop with special editions of singles and albums to persuade the public to buy the record in Rounder and therefore notch up a sale on the Top 40. I certainly remember buying a lot of double 7" singles, autographed albums and stuff from them in the early 80s.

Yes Rounder had a chart terminal so always had the limited edition picture discs etc.
Does anyone remember Quentin working in there ? He changed his name later onto Norman or something and became a DJ
