New board wipes out Millers' debt

Supporters' group buys Millers
A new board has taken formal control of Championship strugglers Rotherham United and cleared the club's debts.
Millers 05 Ltd, a group made up of Rotherham supporters, has acquired 86% of their shares from former chairman Ken Booth and wiped out the £3m debt.

The new owners have also agreed a sale-and-lease-back deal for their Millmoor ground and they plan to start building a new stand by the end of 2005.

Rotherham are currently 11 points adrift of safety in the Championship.

This could mean money in the pot to try and keep them up this season another possible threat in the relegation battle

I've said along that Rotherham will be battling it out at the end rather than being relegated by Xmas but oh no, people said they hav'nt got a hope! But as I predicted they are doing the same as what we did last time, picking up points and gradually catching. The win at Millwall was a superb effort and that will boost them enough in the coming weeks.

Rotherham have already picked up a second wind in recent weeks. As long as we keep picking up the odd win and draw here and there, it'll be hard for Rotherham to catch us. If they make 21st on the final day, good luck to them so long as Brighton are above them. A relegation trio of Leeds, Cardiff and Gillingham would work for me!.....
