Dear Project Team,

My curiosity has been sparked by a comment in the Sheffield Wednesday planning recommendations that the proposed new roof truss for their Kop end was "likely to be the longest single span truss girder in the country".

So the question is I guess, what type of trusses are supporting the roofs of the East and West stands at Falmer, and how long are they going to be?

I'm really looking forward to seeing the East Stand one being put together on the webcam btw!

Thanks,

Don't know how this compares to Sheff Wed but here are a few stats for you.

The clear span of both the East and West Stands are 181m (They are symmetrical)

The height (from pitch level) to the underside of the bottom chord to the East Stand is 23m

The height (from pitch level) to the underside of the top chord to the East Stand is 33m

The height (from pitch level) to the underside of the bottom chord to the West Stand is 32m

The height (from pitch level) to the underside of the top chord to the West Stand is 43m

Glad you are looking forward to watching the east stand arch construction taking place on the pitch, the web cam is perfectly placed for this. Good job we didn't move it!!
