Don't rate Rodgers as a manager. Think he got lucky with Suarez and is now massively over-reliant on Sterling.

I asked some Liverpool fans recently if they trusted Rodgers with the Suarez funds, obviously they all said yes. As far as I can remember the only decent signing he's made is Coutinho, Sturridge is top drawer but he didn't even want him in the first place. He can't spot a player for toffee

Your point is well taken, however - in the last four years Liverpool's net transfer spend has been £140 million. In the same time Real Madrid's net transfer spend has been only £66 million.

Even Coutinho is hit or miss, its not like he plays every week.

Liverpool and Rogers got lucky last year.

Suarez was unstoppable and three of the normal top 5 where utter pony.

I actually think the was Rogers has dealt with him is the perfect example of how not to deal with a difficult player.

How does that fit in?

Bayerns starting line up cost around a total of £50/60m according to my quick estimation (including Lahm, Muller, Lewandowski, Schweinsteiger all free transfers/youth players). Maybe even less than the Liverpool team including Mignolet(£8m?), Lovren (20m), Johnson (£18m??), Coutinho (£10m), Balotelli (£16m)
