I'm inclined to agree with you Matt. The team must be feeling really low now.....but at least they have Sven the master motivator and tactician to cheer them up and drive them forward.

I'm sorry but all this "we're useless" stuff is half the problem with the English attitude to the game. From the national team downards. If the result had gone the other way I can't see the French predicting doom and gloom and let a narrow defeat undermine their performance in the rest of the tournament.

I am totally behind the team but there were some appalling tactical errors tonight.

I know I manage only an Under 12 team (semi-finalists yesterday no less) but even I would never have put that twat Heskey on.

We were crying out for Butt to be on the pitch but no sign of him.

From what i saw of the other game, croatia and switzerland don't worry me, don't forget france are the holder's of this tournment and we came so close to winning, we all abit fed up but we have still got 2 games left in this group and the other game being 0-0 also helps us, let's all get behind england and hopefully we can get the 6 points we need to go through

Bloody right. From what I've read on here half of you think we did well and earned a win but threw it away, and the other half reckon we were utter shite and will now capitulate in our next two games. I'm inclined to side with the former. Roll on Thursday and roll on deoderant.

which game were you watching? were not supporting croatia. were england you fool!! it was a great performance against the best team in the world. everyone around europe who watched the game(except u it seems) knows that we deserved to win. jesus christ! i dont know why people 'support' england if they are going to slag them off because they didnt beat the best team in the world because of two moments of slight slipping in concentration

Using the BBC scores predictor it appears that we can qualify with a win and a draw so long as the team we draw against do not beat France
