personal favorites are metallica and the albums master of puppets, ride the lightning and kill em all. also try pantera reinventing hell

could go on for ages with this but they are good for starters

Drive-by Truckers, The Hold Steady, Gaslight Anthem, Thin Lizzy, Terry Anderson and the Olympic Ass-Kicking Team (I understand no Asses are harmed in the making of their music).

Varying quantities of the above may be found on Spotify. Other legal streaming sites are available, probably.

Three Canadian bands, The Trews, Three Days Grace and Simple Plan, all excellent.

Don't think of them just for what they did in the early 80s. They've recorded loads of albums since then. Try "Rock and Roll", Orgasmatron, Overnight Sensation, but for me their best album is 1916. Some of it is quote thought provoking, some of it is nonsense, but all of it is Rock and Roll.

For something different try Blackfoot, the album Marauder, or for soemthing seriously Proggy, try Iron Butterfly, Ina Gadda Da Vida.

Of the newer bands Airbourne are really good. Saw them in Folkestone last year and have tickets for Hammersmith on 1st April.

Try a band called The Wildhearts, they would have been massive if they hadn't imploded due to all the drugs and in-band fighting!

There records "Earth vs the wildhearts" still sounds as good as when it was released in 1994
