Rochdale not missing Murray

Found myself in Rochdale on Tuesday night - like you do - and decided to get along to Spotland to see them play Barnet.

£12 to stand - and they weren't promoting 25 year old prices in a failed attempt to fill the ground!

Several home fans in replica kits with MURRAY 17 on the back and the programme (which was dated 22 December from the original date and re-covered) had a 2 page feature on our £300K striker who was obviously still with them at the time. Made quite interesting reading.

The couple of home fans I spoke to said they thought he was ok, but tended to blow hot and cold and looking back they were quite pleased to get £300K. The team on the pitch didn't exactly struggle without him, walloping Barnet 3 nil. The third goal was fantastic in case you get a chance to see it on the TV somewhere.

Watch Dale in the playoffs. They might attract all 2,925 who were there Tuesday along to Wembley. :ascarf:

Must be depressing being a Rochdale fan, haven't they spent something like 30 odd years in the basement division without a promotion??

I hope they go up. It would be nice to have a pint in the 'Cemetery' pub again.

And to finally see us win there. Best I've seen in 5 visits is that 1-1 when Carpenter scored in the last minute only for them to equalise in injury time, the season we won the Div 2 Championship. I think Virgo made his debut that game, from memory.
