coventry played 4-5-1 v cardiff and look what happened there, they created hardly any chances. does any know if they have any pacey right or left wingers?

Thier right winger is a guy called Graham Barrett...

Snipped from the article on the site:

McGhee continued, "My message to our fans is to stick with us, give us time and be patient. At the end of the game the other night when we were down to ten men, Jake Robinson had a shot which was greeted with ironic cheers from parts of the crowd.

"I thought that was a joke. It is not what Jake needs and it is certainly not what the team need. It is a shame this is happening.
"
I didn't think the 'ironic cheers' were aimed at Jake, i thought they were for our 1st real shot on goal.

he aint ready

jake aint ready for the championship i know he scored against reading but he needs to be on the bench and gary hart needs to be up front with molango because he a good goal scorer but putting jake robinson up front on saturday will be bit of a disaster!!!

But then to dish out ironic cheers to Jakey, who was trying his hardest to get something from a game that was already lost. Well I hope certain sections of H and J Block are proud of themselves... :(

FFS !!
What makes you single out H & J block.
And secondly (and I wasn't one of them) I thought the jeer was because it was the first shot on goal we had, had all game, and nothing to do with the fact that Jakey was the player who had attempted it.

It would certainly have been more interesting playing with ourselves on Tuesday night than watching the rubbish we had to endure.

Absolutely right. They were no way aimed at Jake. It was our first shot at goal and coming that late in the game absolutely deserved an ironic cheer no matter whose shot it was.

Quite, i don't mind losing if we play well and attack and look like we want to win, hopefully the 4-4-2 will provide us with that... I feel slightly happier about Saturday now.

:)

That is the biggest load of b......s I have heard. I would love us to play well but given the choice I would rather us play s..t and win thus giving us 3 points towards survival.

If we have to play bad to get 50 points this season so be it, forget the 'I want us to play well and look good even if we lose crap'.

I am suprised that after saying in The Argus that JR is not ready for a full game and that he is best used as a sub that MM is considering throwing him to the lions on Saturday.

I would echo Ernest 20 boring 1 - 0 wins will do me fine

We have to be POSITIVE about the team selection and get behind whatever 11 emerge from the tunnel tomorrow. I doubt if McGhee will have a more difficult selection all year given how many potential first-choice midfielders and forwards are out.

Some people are happy that we have reverted to 4-4-2, that's great, for me I remain to be convinced that this is a magic cure-all - rather, performance will be the key thing tomorrow, the options that McGhee had before him with this selection are all pretty evil ones that he will never willingly revisit again this season.

There will be untested defensive combinations if we put out this 11 tomorrow, but I'll gladly take the banter from Trigger and Co. if this selection works their arses off and gets us at least a point. In the first few minutes of play it will be particularly interesting to see how far Currie and Jarrett are allowed to go forward - it is only then will we see how attacking and how cautious McGhee is really being.

It's a truism that every team likes an early goal, but I reckon it will be absolutely vital for us tomorrow. It will not only help these players who've played together so rarely gain the confidence to fight hard and last out the 90 minutes, but it could also disrupt Coventry and knock them out of their gameplan.

What particularly strikes me about the 11 is the loyalty McGhee is showing to the four players he has recently signed. This is a commendable thing - to drop them after two games would send the wrong signal and undermine the plea he has made to fans.

This will be a vital game for them all, because after this game the cavalry will be arriving in successive games after that, even Simon Rodger, which is fantastic news. Only by repaying the loyalty that McGhee is showing them will these four players stay part of the first 11 for the rest of the season.

Start Jakey - more likely to score than OGH. We need someone who's going to produce results not just huff & puff tomorrow.

If he doesn't start though we'll be worse off than v PA by half time. If we don't have attacking options & a competitive midfield they'll piss on us.

Well, I find mysef agreeing with you again BG! I haven't always done so, but it seems the times they are a-changing! I'd obviously prefer to see an entertaining game but, at the end of the day, it's the points that count and I'd happily settle for that!
