I think that is quite a good move. He will offer decent back up and is possibly one of the best placed players to pass on experience to the younger players.

Hasn't brought his friends in? Are you completely out of your mind? He's signed one player who he hasnt worked with previously! And he's brought Bob Booker his old assistant back for Christ's sake. I'm not saying that I'm not happy with the people he's brought in mind, quite the opposite in fact. Much like Fowler, one of the greatest goalscoring records in the premier league, and even on his Liverpool return did pretty well. Blackburn are a mid table side and to have pure talent like Fowler's as a back up is a pretty good move i'd say; especially on a free.
