Crap Town
Another footballer whose career is over considers a move to Grimsby Town in a player/coach capacity. Fowler's contract is up this month at Blackburn and has to decide what to do next as he is interested in football management. Mike Newell , the Grimsby Town manager plays golf with Robbie on a regular basis and hopes that he will save them from relegation into the BSP.

That's like suggesting Brighton will get Ryan Giggs in as player/coach.

It will never happen, can't wait for the Bournemouth to start winning and over take the Crap Town.

No its not - its kinda like saying that Brighton could sign Robbie Savage on loan. No one believed it when they first heard it. Would be a result for them but not impossible.

I'd say that there would be clubs in the Championship or at least League One who'd want to sign Fowler.

Apart from us, everyone else who wanted to sign Robbie were in a lower league.

So it won't ever happen.

Disagree - don't think he is capable as a championship player anymore. League 1 maybe. Though being good mates with a manager is always a help, chuck in the chance to be a bit of a hero and being able to do his coaching badges its not that unspeakable.

Robbie Savage even though carefully about going to Wrexham because of those reasons, given that Fowler really is in the last knockings of his career he might fancy a nice winding down period at Grimsby.

Maybe he isn't a Championship quality player anymore but I still think the teams struggling at the bottom (Donny, Barnsley, Charlton and even Southampton) would want to sign him, just for his name. Cardiff didn't really want him to leave in the summer either so he may even end up back there, whether or not he has the quality.

Also Grimsby wouldn't be able to afford to pay him, players here are on approximatley £500 a week and I'd imagine that Fowler would want 10x that a week. Even the people up here think it is just a joke and a publicity stunt to hide how shite they have been this season, and if it wasn't for the points deductions they would be a long way a drift at the bottom.

Can't compare Savage with Giggs - Ryan has always been two or three classes above Robbie at every stage of their careers.

Giggs may be in his last season at United but he has shown he can still cut it at that level.

Savage did nothing in a recent loan spell at an average League One side...

Well obviously Savage was never as good as Giggs, thats not really the point though. Savage was an established prem player whos couldn't get near the level he was a couple of years ago (as we know now). Its clear that Giggs can still do it at that level.

What if they changed the team from Grimsby to Brighton would he benefit us as back up striker probably as he is a better option than Dixon and Robinson, but not as first choice.

Yeah he would most certainly - though I doubt he would come down here, would imagine he would want to stay in the north somewhere.
