Clowntown have been badgering us for years for some form of rivalry but it's all one way . The saints don't need a rival they have one and so do you . So know your place and don't flirt .

The Rupert Lowe Board set up a group structure which they had hoped would save the club from a ten point FL penalty, should another limited company in the group become insolvent (get off of debts). The Football League saw through this, and still invoked the penalty, when the club let the holding company go under. The creditors of the holding company lost all their claims.

The Liebherr family honoured the debts of the Football Club limited company.

The Albion do have a similar group structure, but the Knight and Bloom Boards always ensured all creditors are paid, with no cop-out Administrations!
Okay, thanks, I wasn't aware of that!

If we get promoted there will be no chance of any sort of rivalry with Southampton. All our energy will be spent trying to stay up and - with a fair wind - trying to finish above Palace. Nothing else will matter in 2017/18.

You have had some vile managers during that period and they were easy to be annoyed with, but it's Palace

Modern football rivalries are not about the proximity anymore and times have changed....problem in the south is that many clubs bar London are miles apart.
Feisty games with lots of trouble are seen as rivalries no matter how many miles apart you're.....Most if not all clubs have one arch rival and many feisty rivalries. Its just the way football has moved on and new rivalries will appear as the years go on.
We've been through Orient,Southend,Aldershot etc in the past and more will follow!!!

It would to be honest be very boring having one feisty enemy:)
Pompey and Southampton are south coast rivals and nothing more....

According to Millwall we are the "Stripey Nigels" i.e. blazer clad public schoolboys. :lolol:

that is ridiculous for a bunch of classless chavs from the SE estates. Sure real public schoolboy "Nigels" would be embarrassed to be associated with goal announcers (as rare as that is), goal music or teenagers with a drum and this weeks pathetic arts and craft project.

Palarse aren't real rivals at all in my book, it was all manufactured back in the 1970's. Surely our real rivals, geographically speaking, have to be Pompey. It's been a good many years since our paths have crossed though.
Palace are closer...... are you really an Albion fan???.... just wondering.

Palace 46.3
Pompey 51.3

DR, as someone familiar with the Bridge back in the day, what do you feel about the lack of response from the Chels to the liberties we took on Saturday?

hanging a painted double flat sheet with "fanatics" on it and singing the St Pauli song 18x? Bloody Liberty
