Saw them in a pub in Kensington in around 1980.

Any band that can piss off Bob Harris gets my vote (albeit strictly speaking that was the NYDs).

RIP. A good age for a (presumably) former heroin user

The last surviving member of the Heartbreakers (Richard Hell doesn't count) has died aged 71.

Harsh not to count Richard Hell. He may not have lasted too long in the band, and may have alienated the others, but he was integral in their formation and early days.

RIP Walter. Admirable that he made it to 71, and not surprising that he was the last of them, given the truckloads of heroin they took.
