RIP Dora, who i always understood could be an angel or a nightmare as described above. Peggy Mount, who was mentioned above, had a lot of friends in certain Brighton communities and has always been described as lovely, but my own favourite of the luvvies of that era was Molly Sugden. Everyone i know who ever met or dealt with her has said she was one of the nicest people they have met.

My best mate lived just round the corner from Clarges in the 70's.
She would let us in for a drink and feed us for nothing.
We were 14/15 years old and she was gorgeous and fun.
We thought that she was nuts, but even then I think it was probably the booze.
Still 91 isn't a bad age for someone who loved the lush.
RIP Dora.

She used to come to my school in Shoreham for all the events as her son was a pupil there. She was an awful singer.

She also had a son that went to school at Longhill in the early 70s - always got picked up in a posh car, never on the school bus.

Perhaps she had two sons, or moved schools maybe? Anyways he was a year or two above me so didn't really know him.

RIP : 91 = good innings ......
