Feel a bit sorry for him - he came here thinking he was going to be playing and staking a place in the Irish side for the summer but it hasn't (yet) worked out
Hopefully this loan will give him game time, keep him fit and fulfil his ambition

Because next season we need a bigger squad as there will be no emergency loan market. If theyre good enough they will get their chance

There is nothing strange about this. He's 24, I fully expect him to be very important for us in the (nearish) future. But right now we have some great experience in midfield with Sidwell (who is 33) and if Richie isn't going to play a lot of games for us in the near term it makes perfect sense for him to go out on loan.

Some people seem to take every loan we send out as a rejection of that player, it really isn't. He excites me a lot, but that doesn't mean he needs to play in our next game. We could worry about his patience I suppose, but don't forget we are less than 20 games from the PL (hopefully).

Are people STILL posting about Towell going on loan, when he hasn't? Or did he?

The boy is a class act!

We're more or less guaranteed top 6 now - even Semi could manage for the remaining 10 games and we'd get the 7-8 points required. Maybe CH will be more inclined to take a risk by using Towell to get the wins needed for the top 2?

He must be frustrated at not getting much of a chance as he was hoping to force his way into the Eire EC squad for the summer.

Clearly there's a need in tight games like last night's for someone in midfield with a bit of guile, vision and flair to unlock a packed defence. Whether Richie T's the man remains to be seen, but we're going to have to show a bit more imagination if we're going to carve out enough points for a stab at the top 2.
