Good actor,but I am not totally surprised he has died at a relatively young age and of complications following heart surgery, as he was very overweight.

I've always imagined that he worked hard on his image as the jovial fat man. I guess he knew that this carried health risks, but hey! he had an incredibly successful career doing something he obviously enjoyed.

This is so sad. I have recently looked forward to the Saturday reruns of Pie in the Sky. I only said last week how surprised I was that he was still around due to his obesity, but I am shocked and saddened. He was a terrific versatile actor with a honeyed voice and I really regret not seeing The Sunshine Boys now.
