is it just me or his the current weak link in the team?
I'd suggest dropping him to buck up his ideas but we dont really have a replacement

I been saying this for some time. Chippy has been one of my favourite players over the past 3 seasons, however, lately he has very much been the weak link.
Come on Chippy your better than this.

with respect, carpenter usually plays the nicky butt role as defensive midfielder. his job is to patrol in front of the back four, tackle hard and play easy passes. it is not spectacular and often goes unnoticed when compared to more attacking roles, but it is just as vital.

Not under performing as much as Jones - shocking over the last two games.

I understand that but look forward to seeing Charlie back in this role. And if Carpenter skies any more shots from outside the penalty area .....

I can't believe what I'm reading! Chippy is our most consistent performer week in week out. He is the heart and sole of our midfield and holds things together.

One of the best midfielders this club has had for a long time.

Chippie was excellant last season - hasn't quite performed this season but I thought he was very good on saturday, best player in the 1st half. Problem is that he and Rahman keep taking up the same space.

I think he's been a consistent player for the last few years, but this season has looked a little off form for weeks.

Maybe out of position, I don't know, but he's definitely not right at the moment.

What's the alternative though? I didn't think much of Piercy when he played the other week.

I think Chippie is playing just fine, hes adopting a different role that means hes not as noticable as last season when Rodger was doing the same job.

Jones on the other hand is playing absolute toss.

Spot on about Chippie, he's very much the unsung hero.

I disagree about Jones though. Ok, his shooting is appaling at the mo, but he wasn't awful on Saturday at all. (IMHO).

I think Chippy has been struggling for form so far this season but the fact that there is no-one else to replace him in midfield has helped him, especially as the last few games have been against distinctly poor sides. Hopefully he can get his form back thourgh playing in these games and look a better player when it matters more. In the first half on Staurday Jones looked like he didn't know which team he was playing for but looked a lot better in the 2nd half, as did a lot of our players

While I don't criticise players during the game Hants, Jones was bloody terrible - he must have passed the ball to an opponent a dozen times, one of which resulted in a clear shooting opportunity. He only started playing at 2-0, which is a common thing for him. As soon as we're two up, out comes the Jonesy 'quick-step'.
