Surely anyone who has broken in to the stadium will be caught on CCTV and therefore will be facing criminal proceedings and a stadium ban from all football stadiums?

Given reports of 100+ doing this I wonder how many will actually be banned. I’ll guess less than 10.

If people get a 3 year ban for pouring a pint over someone then the ban for something like this has to be what, 10 years? The CCTV at the Amex must be really good quality, so surely they can identify 90% of the culprits? But you're right, I can't see them banning 30 or 40 people.

However, those really loud bangs can't have been produced by something so small, can they? It must be something of a fair old size to make that kind of noise, surely?
I'm a long way from any actual knowledge here but I'd hazard a guess the acoustics of the stadium amplified what is already a loud bang.

SSN reporting that CPFC have said they are working with Police to identify culprits with a view to issuing stadium bans.

I know this might sound bit harsh on the genuine palace supporters however surely the club has a duty of care to its supporters .

what would have happened if serious injuries or potentially a fire had broken out .

Personally i believe Palace supporters should be banned from the Amex if the club cant guarantee our safety which is what PB seems to be saying in that there is nothing they can do .

These explosions shook me and i was in the North Stand!

Furthermore what if terrorists has wanted to kill people they could bring in a small device undetected ?

These so called "Ultras" mainly wear black clothing to identify within their group i fail to see how difficult it would be to stop and search these people and check if they have tickets

this could be done at any point it seems ridiculous that police escorted these so called supporters up Queens Road without checking they had valid tickets this could of been done at the station.

I actually do feel sympathy for those genuine palace supporters who turned up with valid tickets and were turned away.its time to get tough with these idiots and yes it might mean banning all palace supporters however safety of all supporters has to be the clubs priority.

.

A lot of what if's but the reality is it was contained and policed and no Brighton fans got injured (just Palace ironically...)

You're actually breaking the law if you send someone away or detain someone for being in a town without a match ticket, unless you can prove they are there to cause disorder or unless they have a banning order.

The HF let themselves down big time last night, and they will have to take the consequences.
The Palace rank and file are getting a tad pissed off with their " you can't touch us" approach to fellow Palace fans.
Stick to the singing boys.

I think they've taken it to far haven't they? Not really my thing but a bit of singing, maybe a drum and display is all well and good but from what I have seen in terms of comments from your own fans and their behavior before and during the game it's pretty diabolical. Charging around, throwing fans out of seats and then throwing bangers / fireworks around. Not knowing them is it not possible fans could 'self police' them ?

Any supporters with legitimate, un-scanned match tickets should email either a picture of the ticket or send the unique seven-digit ID number on the ticket to boxoffice@cpfc.co.uk with the subject title: “Brighton Refund”. Please include your personal details and Client Reference Number, and arrangements will be made for a refund.

Presumably for a £40 ticket they'lll get 80p back

That is pretty unfair. It is clearly a reply to the specific fan's e-mail, that we have not been shown, and addresses the points raised in that.

We'll have to agree to disagree. In his opening comments he says "Crystal Palace fans letting off some small flares and fireworks". This for me demonstrates that he isn't even taking it seriously. It may be a specific answer to some specific complaints, but there is a much bigger story here and I'm surprised by the tendency to say "we did everything we could and that's that".

To be fair, they do give great vocal support, but they could do without the other nonsense.
Treating other Palace fans with contempt isn't on, and it's good that the club are working with the police to identify those responsible.
Spoiled the night for lots of proper Palace .

Thanks Mr Barber for responding within 30 minutes of my email this morning, he is nothing if not focused on the fans.

May also debunk some of the myths being shared on this forum last night.

Dear XXXX,

... and our staff were forced to deal with some very unpleasant individuals and circumstances. They did exceptionally well and no members of the public were hurt.

We were commenting last night that our fans have been banned in the NS for standing or in one case (wrongly accused of) starting a "Stand up if you hate palace" song yet the stewards were happen for their fans to do whatever they liked.

Different stewards though, I was told they were Palace stewards and it was their responsibility to deal with the trouble makers- which of course they did not.

Interested about this bit:

"I’m sorry to hear your evening was spoiled by the mindless behaviour of a small number of Crystal Palace fans letting off some small flares and fireworks"

I don't know anything about these things, but there are many reports that suggest the flares are tiny and as such, I don't doubt that they could be hidden sufficiently well to get them into a ground.

However, those really loud bangs can't have been produced by something so small, can they? It must be something of a fair old size to make that kind of noise, surely?
They could easily be the bangers we use at Lewes bonfire, the size of your little finger
