I have avatars and signatures switched off to draw less attention at work and it makes it all a bit simpler on the eye.

Can't the Gus Meter be a sticky thread in it's own right?!

I've had signatures off for a long time, it's much easier to read without trawling through other people's idea of being wacky or funny. This thread has inspired me to turn off avatars as well, it's been much better without them.

With avatars I just think it's a lot easier to spot certain peoples' posts, if you're looking out for certain posters. Also just adds a bit of personality. oh well.

I agree. I'm a bit thick so it took me over a year to work out how to get an avatar - but just as soon as I worked the fecker out, they got rid!
