With the charts littered with remixes of old songs, is there any that surpass the orginals?

I will start with a couple of my favs.

Call On Me - Eric Prydze
Even Better Than the Real Thing - U2 (perfecto remix)

Iam Struggling.

Sorry mate (but especilally for the eric pridtz selection) I think all of this type of remix are pants.

Using one line from what is a great song and repeating it ad nauseum is not good.

Brimful of Asha - Cornershop (Fatboy Slim remix) is the only tune I can think of that comes close.

Azzido Da Bass - Dooms Night (Timo Mass remix) or Stanton Warriors Mix

Monster of a tune.

To be honest most electronica gets remixed and reworked all the time and very often comes out better than the original. Particularly with house, breaks and D'n'B.

It's when people try remixing "rock" and indie music that it's very rare you'll find a track exceeding the original. Although Chappers is quite correct in putting forward Norman Cook's (as it was originally credited) remix of Brimful of Asha. A true crossover masterpiece.

tied between the original mylo and the re-mix of doctor pressure or whatever its called, wen it comes on in a club the re-mix on its own is better however when the original is in the hands of a good dj then it sounds better wen mixed in with other good tunes.

New Order - World (Perfecto remix)

Oh, an New Order did their own remix of Regret as they weren't satisfied with the "official" edit, its better than the official one too.

I thought he did it under Norman but wasn't quite sure, thanks for setting me straight.

Thunder in your heart remix is a great version of an uncool Leo Sayer song and will be no 1 this week

Say Say Say by HiTrak is a fantastic mix and much better than the lame McCarney and Jackson original

Its Like That-Jason Nevins?

much as I love Run DMC, the remix added a real dance edge.

Audio Bullys Shot You Down, great mix of an old Nancy Sinatra song (and much better)
Bob Marley vs Funkstar Deluxe, Sun is Shining, again superior to the original

Is it f***!

That Funkstar Deluxe crap is an absolute disgrace. The original evokes lazy Summer's evenings, sipping rum with a spliff and not a care in the world. The remix just makes me feel dizzy

Right anyone who suggests the Audiobullys, Jason Nevin, Tiesto or Funkstar Deluxe is an idiot, end of.
I also think the Brimful of Asha original was a lot better.
I put forward Simon Says (Roni Size), the drum'n'bass remix of Torn by Natalie Umbrulia (which is ffing excellent anyone laughing) and the MBV Arkestra remix of If they Move Kill Em by Primal Scream.
But easily the winner is Loaded by Primal Scream which is a remix of I'm Losing More Than I'll Ever Have
