Missed the game to go and see REM at Twickers yesterday.Found a pub beforehand to watch the score come through. Was disappointed when i saw 0-0 but it sounds like we were shite.
Great concert and also good to see the Editors.Anyone else go?

I went. I thought all three bands were good (although the Guillimots got a bit tedious towards the end).

Much better venue for music than Wembley Stadium, IMHO.

I caught REM at The Rosebowl on wednesday. The Guillemots were rubbish... they were billed as multi instumentalists. I found they could all play several different instuments, but, none of them very well.. nuff said.

The Editors were much better, I may wade in and buy the album, they got the crowd back up to where we were before The Guillimots and pushe on to do a good set.

REM , very good, I was a little disapointed by the sound there but over all, enjoyable. I never realised that Stipe was so anti republican ? I should have realised as the band are from Georgia. there were a couple of real magic moments on the night. Electrolite being one and Drive went down very well as did the 4 songs from the new album

I agree. Never been to Twickenham before but was impressed. I had concerns there might be long queues at Twickenham station but leaving while they did Man On The Moon at the end got me on the first train in and on the 2323 at Clapham Junction for Worthing.

I saw them at the CIA in Cardiff last Monday, and they were fantastic.

Stipe is a brilliant showman and the band are all absolutely top notch at what they do, so it was a great night full of fantastic songs. Losing My Religion and Bad Day (the solo of which Stipe played part of on what looked like a recorder) were personal highlights for me as they are two of my fav REM songs.

Editors were good live even though I'm not a massive fan of them. As for Guillemots...if they were playing at the bottom of my garden, I'd shut the windows and draw the curtains.

On an REM note, does anyone know why they don't/haven't been doing Everybody Hurts live?

I heard that REM were playing a gig in England soon after the London bombings and they played an acapela version as a tribute to those who died... I believe they have not played it since ...
