Vincent Kompany couldn't keep Burnley in the PL. I struggle to believe Scott Parker can achieve that.
Whoever wins tomorrow is surely going straight back.
Leeds might just scrape enough to survive.

My wild card is Man U. They are so screwed and toxic at the moment. With penny pinching Jim at the helm, they won't have the funds to rebuild a god-awful team. I suspect (and hope) the rot cranks up a gear next season. My schadenfreude will be off the scale were they to plummet into the Championship.
Not saying I think Burnley will survive but Parker/Kompany are complete contrasts.

Parker's Burnley only let in 16 in 46 games last season - 30 clean sheets in a crazy league.

They have a much better chance of survival than Kompany's team/style did.

To be honest, I do not really give a shiny shite, as long as it is not us.

What would be funny is Palace get raided and the manager goes too, and they cannot cope with Europe and the league, that would be comical.
I really want another club, I don't care who, to get raided as much as we were. I want them to lose their two best players, their manager and coaches and see how they cope.

Ideally, I'd like the raid to take place in November, but during the summer will be fine as long as it's close to the season start or transfer deadline.

The question really is: are any of the premier league teams weak enough to get caught up in a relegation battle?

West Ham look reliably shaky, but Everton and Wolves have done well recently. Could Fulham, Brentford, Wolves, Bournemouth - even us - start off badly and then not be able to climb out of things?

Then maybe one team will lose players without replacing them? Could European matches weaken domestic form, as it has for Man U and Spurs this year?

If none of the above - then the three coming up are going back down.

Seriously, I agree with Play off winner, Dirty Leeds going, I can see Burnley just surviving, at the expense of United, because they can defend.
United are toxic, £300 million still to pay for present players, every squad player up for sale, 1.5 billion in debt, can’t imagine many clubs will be willing to take the players they need to sell, because of ridiculously high wages.Fans in open revolt, a manager who has a rigid system that he plays, and won’t deviate, but, hasn’t got the players to implement it. The 2 strikers they have been linked with are average PL strikers, I can’t see either getting enough goals to keep them up.

Obviously, this depends on who goes, who stays, and who they buy, but, I really can’t see them buying enough quality without the lure of Champions League football.

Just my opinion, of course.

I have said it on other threads but given this could be a predictions thread I will say it here.

Forest.

They will be in Europe. They had a pretty much injury free season compared to others and they did not have Europe. Since Xmas they have been pretty crap and that is without Europe and injuries. It has simply been wood not scoring whenever he fancied it. If they get a few injuries then it could be a long season for them.

Palace
Similar reason to above. Will Eze, Wharton and mark G stay? If not and they get some injuries then I think they might struggle.

Leeds will be fine, I think.

Burnley won’t score enough goals and they can’t rely on defence like they did vs prem sides. Whoever wins play offs will probably go down.

That could well be Bournemouth.

Huijsen already gone.
Kerkez about to go.
Kepa back to Chelsea.
Iraola could be poached.
Other in demand players like Kluivert and Semenyo.

That would be great but I feel the only impact maybe that they will struggle to maintain their relentless monopoly of 12th place. Its 13th for them next season

Of the promoted three the only one I'm confident of going down wil be whoever wins the playoffs.

I think Leeds will have a very decent chance of staying up. They have the second best defence in the championship of the past 10 years or so and something like the fifth best attack in the same time frame. They got 100 points. So, a very good defence, a potnt attack and wealthy owners. Surely they're in position to stay up.

Burnley I'm less confident about. Their defensive performance last season was incredible. Only 16 conceded is ridiculous. However, I didn't watch any of their games is it a defence that can cope with premier league attacks and do they have enough going forward to threaten enough teams? Still, that defense should give them a solid base to attack survival from.

No idea which of the established premier league sides would finish bottom three though. Could be any one of us, bournemouth, fulham, brentford, everton, west ham, wolves, forest or palace. There's really not that much difference between us that one season of bad luck wouldn't affect us negatively. I think the financial muscle of the manc clubs, liverpool, arsenal, spurs, chelsea, villa and newcastle should see them safe.

Next season promises to be pretty interesting - virtually half the EPL will be playing in Europe, with all the strain that brings. Plus Bournemouth, Wolves and possibly Palace losing some key players. Then you have United possibly having to sell Fernandes, and in massive transition (again)....and a potential points deduction for Citeh.

I'd definitely take the Conference League spot if we got it....but the advantage of NOT being in Europe next season would be a serious crack at getting a Europa League place (or better - we can always dream!!)

This potential points deduction for city is just never going to happen. Even if they are found guilty of some of the charges they will lawyer-up every step of the way and ensure nothing takes effect as they go through layers of appeals and legal arguments.

Isn't it getting boring that the three teams that come up go down without a whimper?

This season was crap. Relegation and the title was pretty much decided at Christmas.

How good would it have been seeing Man United and Spurs playing in a european final then having to come back and play to stay up?

People scoffed when the promotion play offs were introduced now they keep the season going up until the final weekend and are loved.
You are Todd Boehly and I claim my prize - was this you?

"That sense of a culture clash with the traditions of the English football pyramid was only reinforced in 2022 when Chelsea's American co-owner Todd Boehly expressed his hope that the Premier League took "a little bit of a lesson from American sports" in a bid to boost broadcast revenue.
His controversial proposals included a 'north versus south All-Star match' and relegation play-offs."
