TBH once you're released the club don't really have anything to do with you.

I think the club use their contacts to try to get released players placed at a suitable level. They don't have to, but they do. Or they used to and I can't imagine they would have stopped

They do circulate details of released players around but really just a minimal effort. Or at least that was the experience I know of.

Samy Chouchane is a very smart player, think he will get fixed up at a decent level. Wonder what’s happening with Duffus, possible he’s rejected a new deal and we will get compensation for him?

We have indeed offered him a contract which up to now he has refused to sign (hence his lack of playing time over the last few months). So, as it stands, he'll be off to a new cub this summer (and, yes, we will get compensation).

I don't browse the Sky website myself (and obviously don't watch Sky) so I suspect there was a mention from someone on here around transfer deadline day that Sky had reported such, and I then looked at Sky's website for confirmation.

I'm surprised by some of these. I'd heard lots of good things about Barrington, Cahill, Chouchane & Jackson from several areas within the club

They probably are good players who will have a future in professional football.

But for the club, there are surely two routes at play here.

Has the player got the potential to be a top 6 EPL player. Yes/No?

Yes - Continue development at the club including loans etc.

No - Will the player attract a significant selling on fee that justifies further investment and development? Yes/No?

Yes - Continue development until a sale can be achieved.

No - Release.
