Okay, I have only the vaguest, crappiest memory of the book, but for whatever reason I'm trying to find anything to do with a Treasure hunt/puzzle-type book from the early 90's, which I assume was aimed at older children.
It was similar to Kit Williams' Masquerade (http://www.bunnyears.net/kitwilliams/masq.html), insomuch as it was based around finding things hidden in images, forming words with letters in the border ... and it was set on an Island. A balloon had crash-landed, I think. I forget what the ultimate prize was.
As I say, a bit obscure, probably just rambling ... I expect no responses!
