Unless Wedlbeck remains fit enough to play far more games, and/or Maupay suddenly runs into form, l really don't see that we have anyone capable of doing that at the moment.

Andone has a better goals per minute record in the PL than both Maupay and Welbeck. That's why I think the idea that Andone is first in line to be shipped out is wide of the mark, GP will want to have a look at him to see if he's fit and to see whether he's behaving himself.

I agree with this.

However, Andone’s limited profligacy in front of goal is not really an issue, nor is his attitude I would say. The poor lad has suffered two major injuries, his fitness is the priority the club will be looking at. It’s perfectly reasonable to assume that he’d not be fit enough for EPL football again; this would be tough as he has two years left on his contract. As you say, he’s not going anywhere for the time being (this window).

While I definitely wouldnt mind a new striker, I think chances are good that Maupay & Connolly will perform better than last season. Maupay was already good in every area besides putting the ball in the net, Connolly remains very young and some of his last starts (Wolves, Burnley) before getting injured (and ****ing up) were very promising. I think at least one of them will have a good season, hopefully along with Welbeck keeping up his form from the second half of the season.

So while a new striker would be nice, I dont think its all doom and gloom if it doesnt happen.

Its the one glaring area that needs addressing and certainly needs to be sorted. We cannot keep scraping by if we intend to progress as a team and a club/

Shane Duffy is an excellent PL defender in the right set up -122 appearances for us and 40+ for Ireland. Utterly shocked that Sean Dyche isn’t all over him, or Viera! Biss & White - LOADS of face-saving PR noise but only Chelsea or City will pay what Tony wants in this pandemic football finance world. Keep Connolly.

I think White is virtually gone, but would love him to stay. Biss not so sure but, again, would be great if he stays.

The most likely outcome of the White saga (Leeds and a.n.other(s)) is that Ben will be looking for new representation while furthering his career with a fabulous Premier League outfit based in Brighton.
