The Cure is probably the only reason I would go to this.

Best uk festivals are Lattitude, Summer Sundae, Bestival, End of The World and Green Man.

Forgot Great Escape but that can be frustrating if you want to see a particular band. Also Edge of The Sea one day festival at Concorde 2

Reading is a festival for annoying teenagers imo. Even if the line up is good I just can't stand all the annoying little bastards running around, ruins the whole thing for me.

The Reading head honcho has promised everyone a free burger and a beer for every day of the festival this year, which should offset the scandalous £197.50 for a ticket in no way whatsoever. Festivals really are in danger of killing themselves with prices like these.

This. With bells on

I must say I feel like I have grown out of this festival. The middle east is safer than reading festival on the final night.

Good shout re The Great Escape. I have much fun wandering around and checking bands out.

I made the mistake years ago of trying to see certain acts and it was impossible to get from one venue to another in time. And even then it would be full. I just wander around now and hope to find something new. Two years ago that was Avi Buffalo and last year Phantom Band ( who I had seen before). Not sure who I will look out for this time round but I always enjoy it. Best year was The year of the Udder Belly and saw Maps and British Sea Power inside

Haven't been for a couple of years myself but Reading was very easy to jib in to. Can't imagine it's much different now.

What day are the Courteeners playing?

Just been pondering this. Used to go every year, but so far they have announced 41 bands. I have heard of 14 of them. I like 3 of them. I feel like such an old man.

(Admittedly, lock up stage is where its at, and thats still waiting to be announced).
